This winter, Mrs. Maerli's English I students wrote an essay about the "Fentanyl Crisis" in Missouri for the Missouri Peace Officers Association. Maddie Pritchett's essay was chosen as the 1st place winner for the eastern side of the state. Officer Michael Wiegand and Asst. Chief Scott Barthelmass visited HJH today to present a check for $300 to Maddie, $100 to Mrs. Maeril, and $100 to HJH. Way to go Maddie, we are so proud of you!
Due to the anticipated threat of severe weather tomorrow afternoon and the timing coinciding with afternoon bus and student driver travel, the Hillsboro R-III School District will dismiss early on Friday, March 31, 2023.
Junior High and High School will begin dismissal at 11:30
Primary, Elementary, and Intermediate will begin dismissal at 12:40.
This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution and a desire to ensure the safety of all of our students, staff, and bus drivers.
It is being made this evening in order to give parents time to plan and make arrangements.
