High School Counseling Office Shares Important Spring Updates: March 18, 2026 Edition

The Hillsboro High School Counseling Office has several important updates for students and families as we head into the spring season.

1️⃣ Senior families should note a date change for Scholarship Award Night. The event has been moved to May 6 at 5:30 PM. Seniors are encouraged to submit any scholarship information as soon as possible so they can be recognized during the ceremony.

2️⃣ Prom is quickly approaching. This year’s prom will be held on Saturday, May 2, and students should and parents can click here for ticket sale information and additional details.

3️⃣ Students also have several upcoming career exploration opportunities. The counseling office is offering multiple field trips, including visits focused on cosmetology, healthcare careers, and skilled trades. These experiences are designed to help students explore post-secondary pathways and future career options.

4️⃣ Several important dates are also approaching for seniors:

  • May 14 – Seniors’ Last Day

  • May 15 – Senior Breakfast, Parade, and BBQ

  • May 17 – Baccalaureate

5️⃣ Finally, juniors and their families are encouraged to begin planning for life after high school. Spring and summer are ideal times to visit college campuses and explore options before the fall application season begins.
