Family Science Night- April 10, 2025 Join the High School Science Department for an evening of family fun with Physics! At this event you will decorate and build a kite, make a rubber band car, and more! The cost to attend is $5. You get to take home what you make! The event will take place from 3:00 -7:00 PM. The last day of school for students will be Thursday, May 29th. We appreciate all the hard work, dedication, and support from our students, staff, and families throughout the year, and we’re excited to finish strong! For those interested in summer school, sessions will run from June 3rd through June 27th. More details will be shared soon.

Good evening, We want to provide an update regarding the situation. The source of the leak has been located, and crews are actively working to correct the issue. At this time, we plan to HAVE school tomorrow - Wednesday, March 12. However, we want to be transparent that, despite the our best efforts, unforeseen challenges can arise. Our team will be up early in the morning checking water pressure to ensure that restroom facilities are fully operational. If conditions change, we will notify you as soon as possible. If you do not receive a call in the morning indicating otherwise, please plan for school as scheduled. Please bring bottled water. The city will be under a boil order. Hillsboro R-III School District – Snow Day Announcement Due to inclement weather, the district will be CLOSED to all students and staff on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. There will be no school and no activities. Stay safe and warm!

❄️Snow Day Announcement – Tuesday, February 18, 2025 ❄️ Due to the forecasted winter storm and out of an abundance of caution, there will be NO SCHOOL in the Hillsboro R-III School District on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The storm is expected to impact our area midday, and given the district’s geographic size and the time required for buses to complete afternoon routes, this decision ensures all students and staff can be safely home before conditions deteriorate. Announcing this closure the night before allows families time to plan, with safety as our top priority. Stay safe and enjoy the snow day!

Dear Hillsboro Families and Staff, While the weather has significantly helped today, the campus and some routes have not yet reached a level of safety that I am comfortable with for our students and staff. Additionally, we are closely monitoring another weather system expected to bring snow this evening and early tomorrow morning. Considering these factors and to provide families ample time to plan, there will be NO School in the Hillsboro R-III School District on Friday, January 10, 2025. Students will have an AMI Day to continue their learning from home. I commend our staff for their hard work and dedication throughout this challenging week.
