Today, we proudly recognize our Speech-Language Pathologists on National Speech-Language Pathologist Appreciation Day.
Did you Know? Our SLPs help students find their voices, build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and create meaningful connections every single day. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom and helps students grow in ways that truly matter.
Thank you for the care, patience, and support you provide to our students and families throughout Hillsboro R-3

Ms. Day’s class had a blast at Field Day. From carefully balancing a ball on a frisbee to ice cream scoop racing, these games had everyone focused, moving, and cheering each other on.

Well...we couldn't ask for nicer weather. We can't wait to celebrate with all of our families this evening!
Special shout out to Twin City Party Rentals for bailing us out with a last minute cancellation. The kids are going to love these bounce houses!

Ms. Jarvis, Mrs. Dedert, Mrs. Sutterer, and Mrs. Spisak's class celebrated the end of the year letter countdown. On 'P" day, there were pirates, planks, and planes outdoors to celebrate!

Check out our published authors in Mrs. Pekarek's class! They celebrated their hard work with a publishing party

End of the year activities are so much fun! Ms. Jarvis and her crew had a😎 beach day ⛱️outdoors.

Our Primary students got hands-on with a “Bright Bites” lesson led by a visiting dietician, learning what really goes into powering their bodies.
Protein. Sugar. Carbs.
Not just words but what they actually do for you.
Many of our students ACTUALLY like salad. Who knew?

🎯 Teacher Appreciation Week began with a Target themed teachers' lounge at the primary school. Guardian Hawks PTO had yogurt parfaits and bagels🥯 waiting for staff as they arrived to begin their day. Later on Ms. Ford & Ms. Smith arranged for The Wandering Bean 🫘truck to bring yummy refreshments.🧋 What a way to start the week!!❤️

Every school day starts and ends with them.
Our bus drivers are often the first smile our students see in the morning and the last wave they get in the afternoon. They safely transport what matters most to us, and they do it with care, patience, and consistency that doesn’t go unnoticed.
On Bus Driver Appreciation Day, we want to say THANK YOU to our Hillsboro R-3 drivers for everything you do for our kids… every route, every mile, every day. 💙🚌

Due to the potential for changing weather conditions, Hillsboro R-3 School District will implement a 3-hour early release on Monday, April 27, 2026.
This proactive decision is being made to ensure that all students and staff are able to arrive home safely before conditions worsen. Due to the geographic size of the district, bus routes require several hours to complete, and releasing early allows us to avoid travel during potentially hazardous conditions.
Please note: There will be no afternoon Early Childhood classes on Monday.
Any additional changes or cancellations related to activities and athletics will be communicated tomorrow.
We understand that schedule changes can be challenging, and we appreciate your flexibility as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Please continue to monitor district communication channels for any additional updates.
Thank you for your support.
Dr. Jon Isaacson
Superintendent

“C is for Camping…and a whole lot of fun! ⛺🔥
Our Primary students took learning "outside the classroom" this week (well, really we stayed inside for the most part but you get the idea!) for ‘Letter C Day’ in their ABC Countdown!
Teachers Dedert, Sutterer, Spisak and Jarvis all teamed up to create a full camping experience! Students rotated through activities like making s’mores, designing campsite maps, playing bingo, and even heading outside to search for animal tracks.
Safe to say…this was one ‘camping trip’ they won’t forget anytime soon! 🐾🍫”

💙 It is hard to tell who was cheering louder…
Today at the Jefferson County Special Olympics in De Soto, our athletes gave it their all. But just as powerful were the smiles, the high-fives, and the pure joy shared between competitors and their buddies.
This was not just about events or medals. It was about encouragement, connection, and celebrating every moment together.
You could see it in every race, every cheer, every hug. A reminder that sometimes the biggest wins are not measured at the finish line.
