2026 Climate and Culture Surveys. We want your feedback.

Students, parents and staff invited to share feedback to help strengthen relationships and improve the school experience. All surveys will be open until Friday, November 6th.

What makes a great school? Strong relationships, supportive teachers and a learning environment where students feel valued and respected.

The Hillsboro R-3 School District wants to hear from the people who experience its schools every day.

As part of its ongoing commitment to improvement, the district is participating in the annual Missouri School Climate and Culture Survey, administered independently by the University of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

The survey gives students, parents and employees an opportunity to share their experiences and provide feedback about the learning environment in Hillsboro R-3 Schools.

The information collected helps district leaders identify strengths, recognize areas for improvement and measure progress toward goals established in the district's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP 2023–2028).

Two important areas of focus include:

  • Adult-to-Student Relationships: Building meaningful connections between students and caring adults who provide encouragement, support and high expectations for academic achievement and behavior.

  • Student-to-Student Relationships: Creating a positive school environment where students demonstrate kindness, respect and healthy relationships with their peers.

Students in grades 3–12, parents and staff members throughout the district are invited to participate. Survey invitations have been distributed by email.

Participation is voluntary, and responses are confidential. Individual answers are not shared with the district. Instead, responses are combined into summary reports that help school leaders better understand the climate and culture within each building.

The results will also help guide future school improvement efforts.

Once the survey results have been compiled, they will be presented publicly at a Hillsboro R-3 Board of Education meeting and made available on the district's website.

The district encourages everyone who receives a survey invitation to take a few minutes to provide thoughtful, honest feedback.

Every perspective matters in helping Hillsboro R-3 continue building schools where students feel supported, employees feel valued and families feel connected.
