Due to the timing of the forecasted storm and the anticipated impact on the morning commute,
the Hillsboro R-3 School District will not be in session on
Friday, March 11, 2022.
Making an early decision to call off school is always difficult,
however, we always try to err on the side of caution and
show courtesy to our families planning for child care.

Due to the inclement weather, the Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
The forecasted timing of the winter storm and the fact that the Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 12:00 pm tomorrow, is cause for concern.
The district operates with two bus routes, which in total takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete. In order to ensure that all of our buses, student drivers, and staff are not on the road when the predicted ice/snow arrives, we will err on the side of caution.
The Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Wednesday February 23, 2022.
Due to the inclement weather and refreezing, the Hillsboro R-III School District will not be in session on Friday, February 18, 2022. Please stay safe!
Tomorrow, Thursday, February 17, 2022 due to the forecasted timing of the incoming winter storm, the Hillsboro R-III School District will have a 3 hour early release. This information is being shared this evening, to give parents/guardians time to plan for a mid-day drop-off and child care.
The heavy amounts of rain will make pre-treating roads difficult. The temperatures are expected to drop rapidly and potentially cause flash freezing of the roads, especially as we move into the normal K-6th grade run times.
In an effort to ensure the safety of our students and staff, we will be releasing at the following times:
Junior High: 11:20 am
High School: 11:30 am
Intermediate/Elementary: 12:30 pm
Primary: 12:40 pm
*All JH and HS practices will be complete no later than 1:30 pm.

*Sports / Participation packets must be complete / current in order to receive a tryout card.
