Parents as Teachers is a free and voluntary program for parents and young children designed to provide practical, effective help for all families including single parents, first time parents, and those who already have children.

As a parent you are your child's first teacher. Your home is your child's first schoolhouse. The way your child grows and learns during the early years of life -- beginning at birth -- can have an enormous impact on his or her later development and success in school.

Information about things to look for and expect as your child grows and develops.
Periodic checkups of your child's educational development.
Vision hearing and screenings.
Personal visits with parent educators who are trained in child development.
Group meetings with other new parents so you can share experiences and discuss topic of interest.

These materials explain the developmental phases of your child and provide age appropriate activities. These easy-to-do learning activities are designed to encourage maximum visual, motor, and language development.
