Dr. Paul Maynard was appointed to the board on May 2008. Paul is currently serving as the Board President.

Jim Sucharski is currently serving as a college instructor, following a career as a public school teacher and administrator. He is currently serving as the Board Vice-President. He recently retired from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education after serving six years as Superintendent of the Missouri School for the Blind, located in St. Louis, Missouri. His sons are graduates of Hillsboro High School and he and his family have lived in the Hillsboro community for twenty-two years.

Jo Ellen Stringer was appointed to the board in January 2009. Jo Ellen is currently serving as a part-time teacher for Jefferson College. Jo Ellen and her husband Bob have been residents of Hillsboro for over 35 years. Bob is chair to the Hillsboro Planning and Zoning Committee. Jo Ellen is currently serving as the Board Treasurer.

Mr. Dan McCarthy was elected to the Board of Education in April 2011. Dan and his wife, Elenora, have 3 children that attended and graduated from Hillsboro R-3. Dan has six grandchildren, and one currently enrolled in the Elementary. Dan helped form Hillsboro R-3 soccer program in 1997, first president of the Soccer Booster Club, and Pioneer Award 2001 for making Hillsboro soccer a reality.

Mr. John Lewis was elected to the Board in April 2011. John has been a resident of Hillsboro for 41 years. He has been married to Mendy for 17 years. He has four children who attend school here at Hillsboro.

Mr. Bo Harrison was first elected to the Board in April 2009.

Mr. George Engelbach was re-elected to the board in April 2011.

Mrs. Beth Ann Johnston was first elected by the Board to serve as secretary in 1997. She has two children who attended and graduated from Hillsboro Schools. Mrs. Johnston works as the secretary to the superintendent in the R-3 Administration Building. Beth is currently serving as the secretary to the board of education.
